The Jacques Whitford Stantec Planning & Landscape Architecture team in association with our recently acquired affiliate, The Sheltair Group, is seeking a Senior Planner to join our Vancouver team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities:
Jacques Whitford Stantec and its recently acquired affiliate, The Sheltair Group, are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to contribute to our dynamic Sustainability / Planning & Landscape Architecture team. You will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment where service, leadership, innovation, teamwork and commitment to excellence are core values. You will be responsible for applying your breadth of planning and sustainability knowledge and experience, including work with both public and private sector clients, to a range of projects. Responsibilities will include undertaking business development activities, managing projects, and balancing a number of diverse projects - including ones arising out of Bill 27 and other regulation that encourages governments to embrace energy and sustainability. Travel is required.
Qualifications:
- CIP and PIBC Membership
- Master’s degree in planning or a relevant combination of education and experience
- At least 10 years of professional planning experience is preferred
- Professional work history in private sector planning, a combination of private/public sector planning, or an interest in bringing your skill set to the private sector
- Knowledge of planning principles and legislation, municipal policies, procedures and regulations
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in sustainability-focused policy planning projects, including OCP’s
- Knowledge of the land development process and sustainable site planning
- Demonstrated success in building relationships in the private and public sectors in British Columbia
- Strong public consultation skills
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated project management, problem-solving and analytical skills
