About the team
Our team, lead by The Sheltair Group, consists of staff members
from two BC-owned companies: The Sheltair Group, and Cooley &
Associates. Company biographies are briefly described below.
The Sheltair Group
The Sheltair Group is small Vancouver-based consulting company consisting
of an interdisciplinary team of engineers, urban planners and resource
management professionals. “Sheltair” has a 23-year history
working with government, utility and private sector clients on green
building design, sustainable community planning, stakeholder engagement,
resource management, and building science. Today, The Sheltair Group
has established itself as a leader in helping our clients define
and achieve their goals for sustainability at all scales, from policy
to design to implementation.
Cooley & Associates, Inc.
In 1984, after a decade of public service and teaching at the university
level in the United States and Canada, Ms. Cooley founded Cooley
& Associates, Inc. The company provides professional services
to a variety of public and private clients in planning, communications,
facilitation, training, and design and implementation of public
involvement processes and multi-party decision-making processes.
The company specializes in multi-party planning and decision processes,
designed to bring people together to overcome adversarial histories
and to help reconcile competing interests.
The company provides individual and group training and coaching
in communication skills, consensus decision making, interest-based
discussion, and team building. Nancy particularly enjoys building
skill training and development into the work circumstances individuals
are called upon to function in. This enables people to learn new
skills, or improve existing skills, while carrying out their responsibilities
and while engaged with the people they need to be able to communicate
with or work with.
