Residential Land Inventory and Capacity Assessment, City of Vernon

The Sheltair Group conducted a residential land inventory and capacity assessment as part of the Vernon's Official Community Plan review process. A constraints analysis and build-out analysis under both a theoretical and practical capacity assumptions was conducted. The analysis explored capacities with and without development within designated Urban Growth Areas. The analysis was conducted using CommunityViz, an extension that sits on top of ArcGIS, an industry wide standard software program used for visualizing spatial data. This application allows the user to develop scenarios that can be changed on the fly to view different growth scenarios. Results from the Inventory and Capacity Assessment fed into the City of Vernon OCP review process.
