Aviva Savelson, MA - Project Manager
Aviva is a sustainability consultant with a background in community and regional sustainability and has more than seven years experience researching and facilitating sessions on environmental and sustainability issues.
Aviva currently leads Sheltair’s Performance Measures and Monitoring Service Area which focuses on developing indicators, benchmarks and targets to monitor growth and progress at both local and regional scales. Aviva has managed and worked on several indicator projects, including: Ecosystem Based Management Working Group - Human Well Being Indicators and Baseline Study - for the North and Central Coast of BC and the Regional District of Okanagan Smilkameen Baseline Study for the South Okanagan Regional Growth Strategy Performance Indicators.
Aviva also works on Sheltair’s Strategic Sustainability Planning projects (i.e. ICSP and Smart Planning projects), including: Envision Wood Buffalo with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and its rural community constituents, Maple Ridge Sustainability Consultation with District staff, City of Rossland Strategic Planning Process, City of Victoria Performance Measures for the Dockside Green Development and Emerald Hills Urban Village SUN Process Pilot Project. Aviva’s role in these projects includes organizing, coordinating and facilitating multi-stakeholder sessions with government, First Nations, the private sector and the general public as well as developing visions, measures of success and future scenarios.
