Action plans for transforming the BC construction industry toward high performance ‘green’ buildings

The Sheltair Group outlined a plan for the BC Buildings Corporation to overcome non-regulatory barriers and accelerate the production of high performance commercial and residential buildings. The plan targeted 1,000,000 square feet of commercial and 700 units of commercial space annually over two years. Eight strategies were recommended to enhance awareness and demand, develop key intellectual capital, provide catalyst financial incentives and realign the way the development business is done to facilitate innovation and profitability in the production of high performance buildings. The plan includes the outline of a management structure of self-organizing teams and is structured as a resource to them.
